Oven Baked Salisbury Steak

Oven Baked Salisbury Steak

Oven baked salisbury steak is one of my favorite meals because it is so simple to make and can be done entirely in the oven. I love the french onion gravy and the juicy beef patty.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) french onion soup
  • 1/2 cup Italian style bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 ts salt
  • 1/4 ts pepper
  • 1 ts onion powder
  • 1/2 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ts ground mustard seed

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large bowl mix together ground beef, 1/3 cup of the french onion soup, Italian style bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper, onion powder, and green pepper.
  2. Once the above ingredients are all mixed well with the ground beef, shape into patties. I made five patties out of one pound of ground beef.
  3. Lightly coat the baking dish with butter before placing the patties in the dish to bake.
  4. Bake on 400 degrees for twelve minutes. Drain the grease from the baking dish before adding in the gravy.
  5. To make the gravy mix together flour, remaining french onion soup, ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce and the ground mustard seed in a large bowl.
  6. Pour the gravy over the steak patties and bake for 20 minutes on 400.
  7. Enjoy!
